Vanderbilt recently beat the University of Alabama, and their fans really couldn’t handle it.

Immediately following the game, people began to rush onto the field. Of course, they had just spent the past few hours getting their BACs into the double digits, so their minds quickly turned from “yay football” to “what’s on this field that I can break?”

Eventually, they settled on a shared enemy: the goal post. With considerable effort, students and fans tore down the goal post, carried the thing through the city and eventually threw it into the river. It was later fished out, with the SEC fining the University $100k for the incident.

Now, they’re selling bits of the goal post, presumably to make up some of the money lost to fines. A four-inch section of the post is currently priced at $1,005, while an eight-inch section is listed for $4,035.
